What This Policy Covers
This privacy policy explains how RiffMentor handles your information. RiffMentor is a free music practice coaching app with no user accounts, no backend servers, and no data collection. All practice sessions, progress, achievements, and preferences remain exclusively on your device.
This policy applies to RiffMentor on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Data We Collect
RiffMentor collects zero data. No analytics, no crash reporting sent externally, no telemetry of any kind. The app functions entirely on your device with no network requests.
Data Stored on Your Device
RiffMentor stores the following data locally. This data never leaves your device:
- Completed practice sessions — session name, duration, blocks completed, ratings
- Practice streaks — current streak, longest streak, last session date
- Unlocked achievements and badge progress
- Favorite practice sessions you've saved
- Onboarding preferences — selected instrument, goals, skill level, focus areas
- App preferences — theme, accent color, haptics, language
- Reminder schedule (enabled state, hour, minute)
You have full control over this data. Use "Reset Progress," "Reset All," or uninstall the app to remove everything.

Device Permissions

Notifications are optional and entirely local — no push tokens are generated or transmitted. Photo library access is write-only; RiffMentor cannot read or browse your existing photos. You can enable or disable reminders at any time in Settings.
Sharing Features
RiffMentor includes optional sharing features that you control:
- Share cards: Generate visual practice achievement cards that can be shared via the native OS share sheet, or directly to Facebook and Instagram. The card image is saved to your photo library before opening the target app.
- Social sharing: RiffMentor can open Facebook or Instagram on your device so you can post your share card. No data is sent to Facebook, Instagram, or any server by RiffMentor itself — the app simply saves an image locally and opens the other app. If Facebook or Instagram is not installed, you are offered a link to the App Store or Google Play.
RiffMentor does not control, intercept, or track what you share or where you share it. All sharing is user-initiated. No accounts, tokens, or social media SDKs are integrated.
Third-Party Services
RiffMentor does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data-processing services. All practice exercises, coaching logic, and content are bundled within the app. The app is entirely self-contained with no external dependencies.
Children's Privacy
RiffMentor does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no social features, no in-app purchases, and no objectionable content. Music practice sessions are suitable for all ages.
Data Retention and Deletion
All data exists exclusively on your device. You are in full control:
- Reset progress (clears sessions, achievements, and streaks) within Settings
- Reset all data via the "Reset All" option in Settings
- Export practice data as JSON for personal backup
- Uninstall RiffMentor to permanently remove all data
- Clear app data via your device's system settings
No data is stored on any server — there is nothing to request deletion of remotely.
Security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security — passcode, biometrics, and encryption at rest. RiffMentor makes no network requests, eliminating the risk of data interception during transmission.
Changes to This Policy
Updates will be published at this URL with a revised date. Since RiffMentor collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
