What This Policy Covers
This privacy policy explains how DoneAgain handles your information. DoneAgain is a free recurring task tracker with no user accounts, no backend servers, and no data collection. All your task data, preferences, photos, and location reminders stay on your device.
This policy applies to DoneAgain on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Data We Collect
DoneAgain collects zero data. No analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry. The app functions entirely on your device with no network requests. Despite requesting device permissions for location, camera, calendar, and photos, all data from those features remains exclusively on your device.
Data Stored on Your Device
DoneAgain stores the following data locally. This data never leaves your device:
- Recurring tasks — names, categories, intervals, notes, emoji, tags
- Completion logs — dates, optional costs, and proof photo references
- Location data — coordinates and radius for geofence-based reminders
- Proof photos stored in app-local file storage
- Calendar sync preferences for device calendar integration
- Household identifiers for file-based household sharing
- Gamification state — streaks, achievements, smart list settings
- App preferences — theme, accent color, haptics, language, currency
- Reminder schedule and notification preferences
You have full control over this data. You can clear it within the app or remove it entirely by uninstalling DoneAgain.
Device Permissions
DoneAgain requests specific device permissions to power its core features. Each permission is optional and requested only when you use the related feature:
| Permission | Purpose | Data handling |
|---|---|---|
| Location (foreground) | Set location-based task reminders at relevant places | Local only |
| Calendar | Sync recurring tasks with your device calendar | Local only |
| Camera | Take proof photos to attach to completed tasks | Local only |
| Photo Library (read) | Select existing photos as task proof | Local only |
| Photo Library (save) | Save share cards to your photo library | Local only |
| Notifications | Task reminders, streak alerts, and schedule prompts | Local only |
On Android, the app also declares WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (for saving share cards), POST_NOTIFICATIONS, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, READ_CALENDAR, and WRITE_CALENDAR — these map to the same features listed above.
All permissions are handled entirely on-device. No data from these permissions is ever transmitted to any server. Location coordinates stay in your local task data. Photos stay in app-local storage. Calendar writes go to your device calendar only.
What DoneAgain Does Not Do
| Category | Status |
|---|---|
| Personal data collection or transmission | None |
| Analytics or usage tracking | None |
| Crash reporting / diagnostics | None |
| Advertising or ad networks | None |
| Third-party data sharing | None |
| User accounts or authentication | None |
| Cloud storage or backup sync | None |
| Background location tracking | None |
| Microphone or sensor access | None — microphone permission may be declared by the camera framework but is never used; the app captures photos only, not video |
Location Data
When you create a location-based task reminder, DoneAgain requests foreground location access to let you pick a place. The selected coordinates are stored locally in your task data.
DoneAgain does not:
- Track your location in the background
- Build a location history or movement profile
- Send location data to any server or third party
- Use location data for analytics or advertising
You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings. Existing location reminders will remain in your task list but geofence alerts may stop functioning.
Photos and Camera
When you attach proof photos to a completed task, DoneAgain stores them in app-local storage on your device. Photos are never uploaded, shared, analyzed, or transmitted. You can delete proof photos by editing or removing the associated task.
Sharing Features
DoneAgain includes optional sharing features that you control:
- Share cards: Generate visual achievement cards that can be shared via the native OS share sheet, or directly to Facebook and Instagram. The card image is saved to your photo library before opening the target app.
- Social sharing: DoneAgain can open Facebook or Instagram on your device so you can post your share card. No data is sent to Facebook, Instagram, or any server by DoneAgain itself — the app simply saves an image locally and opens the other app. If Facebook or Instagram is not installed, you are offered a link to the App Store or Google Play.
- JSON/CSV export: Export your tasks and history as backup files stored on your device.
All sharing actions are initiated by you. No data is automatically transmitted. No accounts, tokens, or social media SDKs are integrated.
Household Sharing
DoneAgain supports optional household sharing through file-based data exchange. Household identifiers are randomly generated 32-character codes created on-device using cryptographic functions. Sharing happens through JSON export/import files — no server or cloud service is involved. You choose how to transfer these files (e.g., AirDrop, messaging, email).
Third-Party Services
DoneAgain does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data-processing services. The app is entirely self-contained with no external network dependencies.
Children's Privacy
DoneAgain does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no social features, no in-app purchases, and no objectionable content.
Data Retention and Deletion
All data exists exclusively on your device. You are in complete control:
- Delete individual tasks and their proof photos within the app
- Export data as JSON backup or CSV files
- Reset all data via the "Reset All" option in Settings
- Uninstall DoneAgain to permanently remove everything
- Clear app data from your device's system settings
No data is stored on any server — there is nothing to request deletion of remotely.
Security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security — passcode, biometrics, and encryption at rest. Since DoneAgain makes no network requests, there is no risk of data interception in transit.
Changes to This Policy
Updates will be published at this URL with a revised date. Since DoneAgain collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
