    Will these QR codes ever stop working?

    No. Everything this tool makes is a static QR code: the content is encoded directly into the pattern, so the code itself is the data. There is no redirect through POLPROG, no short link, no account and nothing to expire or switch off. A code you generate today will still resolve to the same content in ten years, whether or not this site still exists. That is the opposite of a dynamic or tracking QR code, which encodes a link to somebody else server and stops working the moment that service shuts down, changes its pricing or loses the domain.

    Is anything I type sent to your servers?

    No. The whole generator runs in your browser: the encoder, the preview, the logo compositing and the PNG and SVG export. There is no API endpoint behind this page at all, so a Wi-Fi password, a private phone number or a contact card has nowhere to be sent even by accident. A logo you add is read with FileReader and never uploaded. You can confirm all of this yourself by opening your browser network panel while you use the tool: it stays empty.

    What does the error correction level actually change?

    It sets how much of the code can be damaged and still decode. L recovers about 7 percent, M about 15, Q about 25 and H about 30. Higher levels add redundancy, which makes the symbol denser at the same content length, so the modules get smaller unless you also print it larger. M is the right default for a screen or a clean print. Go to Q or H when the code will be printed on something that gets handled, or when you place a logo over it, because the logo spends part of that same budget.

    Why does the tool warn me about my colours?

    Because a scanner has to tell dark modules from light ones, and a low-contrast code fails in exactly the conditions where people use it: bad lighting, a cheap camera, an angle. The tool measures the contrast between the two colours you picked and warns below roughly 3:1, which is where readings start to fail. It also flags a light-on-dark code, because most decoders assume dark on light and some will not read the inverse at all. A transparent background is judged against white, since that is what it will usually be seen on.

    How large can a logo be before the code breaks?

    A logo hides part of the symbol, and the error correction has to rebuild what it covers. Coverage grows with the square of the width: a logo 30 percent as wide as the code hides 9 percent of it, and one half as wide hides 25 percent. The tool compares that against the budget of the level you chose and warns once the logo uses more than half of it, because a printed code also has to survive scuffs, glare and folds. Above the full budget it refuses outright. When you add a logo it also raises the error correction to a level that carries it.

    What is the quiet zone and why does it matter?

    It is the plain light border around the code. ISO/IEC 18004 specifies four modules of it, and it is not decoration: the scanner uses that empty margin to find where the symbol starts and ends. A code printed flush against a coloured panel, a photo or the edge of a label often will not be located at all, even though the pattern itself is perfectly correct. The tool defaults to four modules, warns below that and refuses zero.
