How this is measured
Readability scores, but only the ones that were actually validated for the language you select. English gets Flesch Reading Ease, Flesch-Kincaid Grade, Gunning Fog, SMOG, Coleman-Liau and ARI; Polish gets FOG-PL; German, Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian each get the formula built for them.
Running an English formula on another language produces a number, not a measurement: Flesch Reading Ease reports a German children's book as very difficult, simply because German words are longer. For a language with no validated formula here, the tool reports the structural counts and LIX - a cross-language measure - and says that is what it is doing.
Below 100 words no score is shown at all, because every one of these formulas swings wildly on a single long sentence at that length. The structural measurements are still reported.
