1 Minute Typing Test FREE
The standard minute. Long enough for the number to mean something, short enough to take again, with your speed graphed second by second.
Click the words and start typing. The clock starts on your first keystroke. Escape or Tab gives you a new text.
Your run
The line is your speed second by second. Every figure it plots is in the numbers above it.
Your best runs
Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored. The keystrokes are read from this one field, never from the page as a whole, and only your finished scores are kept, in this browser, until you clear them.
Why a minute
One minute is the length most quoted speeds were measured over, so it is the one to use if the number is going on an application form. It is also long enough for a stumble to average out: fifteen seconds rewards a lucky run of easy words, a minute much less so.
The run ends exactly on the clock rather than on whichever keystroke happened to notice, so the minute really is a minute. Your speed is graphed second by second underneath, which is where a hesitation becomes visible, and consistency puts a number on how even the run was.
Words are drawn at random from a common-word list each time, in whichever of the six languages you choose, so no two runs are the same text and none of them can be memorised. Nothing you type is stored: only the finished scores are kept, in this browser, until you clear them.
