Several things we had been preparing in parallel are landing in the same week. BikeAtlas has a new interface, PhotoToPuzzle is now on Android, CostBoard reaches Google Play on Friday, and signed-in members get a new tool for analysing the weight of an HTML document.
A new BikeAtlas
We redesigned mybikeatlas.com from end to end. The previous version crammed a list of benefits and three tiles describing what the app can do into the first screen. The new one starts with what people actually come for: the route.
- A cleaner interface. Fewer elements competing for attention, a clear hierarchy and one obvious next step.
- Smarter route planning. Riding-type filters - road, gravel, MTB, adventure, bikepacking - are right at hand, and the featured route shows distance and elevation without opening the details.
- Better structure for riders. Six distinct sections: plan, train, explore, gear, community and tools. Those areas used to be scattered across the menu.

PhotoToPuzzle on Android
PhotoToPuzzle is now on Google Play. Until now it was available on iOS and iPadOS only. The Android release is the same app with nothing cut: turn your own photo into a jigsaw, pick the number of pieces and solve it on a phone or a tablet. No account, no charge.
CostBoard for Android on Friday
CostBoard reaches Google Play on Friday 7 August. It is the first public Android release.
HTML Weight Breakdown, a new tool for POLPROG members
You point it at a page address and HTML Weight Breakdown splits the HTML response into parts: markup, inline CSS, inline JavaScript, data: identifiers and comments. It also shows which specific elements weigh the most and what to do about it - for example that critical CSS should cover the first screen only rather than the whole stylesheet, or that HTML comments were left in production.
The tool requires signing in. We fetch the page once and never store it.
