Celsius to Fahrenheit FREE
Convert degrees Celsius to Fahrenheit and back. Temperature has an offset as well as a scale, which is why it is the one conversion a plain multiplication gets wrong.

Every conversion is calculated in this tab. Nothing is sent anywhere, which is also why the result appears as you type rather than after a round trip to a server.
Why temperature is the awkward one
F = C * 9/5 + 32, and C = (F - 32) * 5/9. The offset is what separates temperature from every other conversion here: a scale factor on its own would turn 0 C into 0 F, and it does not, it turns it into 32 F.
Because of that offset there is exactly one temperature that reads the same on both scales: -40 C is -40 F. It is worth remembering, and it is the first thing worth testing any converter with.
Kelvin and Rankine are on the same page, and everything is converted through kelvin internally. Nothing below absolute zero is accepted: -300 C is not a very cold day, it is a typo, and the tool says so instead of returning a number.
